Diamond Innovations came to be because of an act of love. I wanted to do something extra special for my wife for our 20 wedding anniversary which was still a few years away. I wanted it to be big, I wanted it to be special. Something that said “I love you forever”. And I wanted it to last an eternity. I was in camp working at a diamond mine high in the Canadian north at the time. Every night after working a 12 hour shift I would get cleaned up, have dinner and then sit alone in my room and try to come up with ideas into the late evening. It was during one of these late night brainstorming sessions that I realised that If I could find a way to put our wedding picture into a diamond it would last forever. It would display our love for all generations. I decided then and there that I would search the world if I had to in order to make this happen. After two years of discipline, hard work and searching the world, I had finally made it happen! And when we saw it for the first time we were overwhelmed with emotion. Our wedding picture was inscribed in a diamond where it would remain, unchanged, forever. And realizing this had a profound effect on us, we were changed forever. Being aware of how this made us feel, I realized that this was not only my ‘Taj Mahal’ to my wife, but that this could be our ‘Taj Mahal’ to God and to the world.
